COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
MAINTENANCE STAND, SELF-PROPELLED, SCISSORS LIFT
The General Service Administration has authorized
the use of this commercial item description.
Scope. This commerical item description covers a self-propelled, scissors lift
maintenance stand, consisting of a work platform and base, for use with large
aircraft. Both electric-powered and diesel-driven stands are described herein.

Salient characteristics
a. size
(1) The stand shall be at least 37 feet high as measured from the
ground to the underside of the platform when fully elevated and in a mobile
configuration. The maximum height of the stand with platform lowered and
guardrails removed shall be 8 feet 4 inches.
(2) The platform shall be at least 6 feet wide and 13 feet long,
with a front overreach of at least 5 feet.
(3) The base shall be at least 6 feet wide and 8 feet long.
