4.4 Preproduction (first article) Test.
Production tests shall consist of all
tests described under 4,6,
4.4.1 Test Sample. One maintenance platform shall be manufactured and certified
to paragraph 4.5. l.a. and shall be subjected to the preproduction tests.
4.5 Quality Conformance Tests.
Quality conformance tests shall consist of:
a.
Individual tests.
Periodic sampling tests.

Individual Tests. Each maintenance platform shall be subjected to the
following tests as described under 4.6:
Examination of product,

4.5.2 Periodic Sampling Tests.
Sampling tests shall consist of the tests
described in 4.6.4.c.
4.5.2.1 Sampling Plan. One maintenance platform shall be selected from each 5 or
fraction thereof on the contract or order and subjected to the sampling tests. The
test sample shall be selected at random from production units which have
successfully completed all individual tests.
4.5.2.2 Rejection and Retest. When one item selected from a production run fails
to meet the requirements specified herein, no items still on hand or later produced
shall be accepted until the extent and cause of failure are determined,
4.5.2.3 Individual Test May Continue, For operational reasons, individual tests
may continue pending the investigation of a sampling plan test failure, but final
acceptance of items on hand or produced later shall not be made until it is
determined that items meet all the requirements specified herein.
4.5,3 Defects in Items Already Accepted.
The investigaton of a test failure
could indicate the defects may exist in items already accepted.
If so, the
contractor shall fully advise the produring activity of all defects likely to be
found and methods of correcting them.
4.6 Test Methods.
4.6.1 Examination of Product,
The maintenance platform shall be inspected to
determine compliance with the requirements specified herein. Particular attention
shall be given to workmanship, materials, dimensions, and markings. A checklist
shall be prepared to verify requirements specified in section three which are not
verified by testing,
4.6.2 Mobility Tests. The maintenance platform shall be subjected to the
mobility tests as specified in MIL-M-8090 (see 3,4.6).
4.6.3 Stability Tests.
4.6.3.1 Wind Test, With the maintenance platform configured as specified in
3.5. l.a,
it shall be subjected to intermittent winds of 40 miles per hour and shall meet the
