MIL-T-85703(AS)
2.
Tachometer, or other suitable rotational speed measuring device.
3. Electric power supply, in accordance with 3.5, equipped with
voltage and amperage recording devices.

Test procedure
1. Secure the tool to prevent inadvertent movement and position
the tachometer to obtain output shaft rotational speed.
Using the power cable, p/n 1167AS142-1, connect the tool to a

source.
3. Using the control switches on the tool, perform a no-load speed
test for 4 minutes in each direction. Record the output shaft rotational
speed for each shaft direction. Record the voltage and amperage at output of
the power supply.
4. Attach the tool to the prony brake or the dynamometer with
sufficient support and alignment to minimize wobble and resist torque reaction
to the tool.
5. Run the tool in the clockwise (CW) direction at each
incremental torque load specified below. Allow 2 minutes dwelltime between
each incremental run. Record the torque, speed, voltage and amperage draw.
Run time for each incremental load is as follows:
6. Repeat step 5 three times. Record the torque, speed, voltage
and amperage draw for each run.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 except run the tool in the counterclockwise
(CCW) direction.
8. Test the torque limiter by adjusting to 20 ft-lb and installing
the tool as in step 4.
9. Run the tool in the clockwise direction with a 15 ft-lb load,
then, rapidly increase the torque load to activate the torque limiter.
Continue to run the tool for 5 seconds with the torque limiter activated.
Record the torque limiter actuation torque, voltage and amperage.
