MIL-T-85703(AS)
10. Repeat step 9 three times. Record the torque limiter
actuation torque, voltage and amperage draw for each run.
11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 except run the tool in the counterclock-
wise direction.
12. Increase the torque limiter to a 50 ft-lb capacity and the
dynamometer a to 40 ft-lb load. Perform steps 9, 10 and 11.
4.6.2.2 Test method 2B (quality conformance). Test method 2B shall
consist of the following test appartus and test procedure:
Test apparatus
a.
1. Suggested test stand (see 4.6.2.3) or prony brake or power
absorbing dynamometer (with minimum torque rating at 75 ft-lb and maximum
speed rating over 500 rpm and with accessories to adapt tool output shaft).
Tachometer, or other suitable rotational speed measuring device.
2.
3. Electric power supply, in accordance with 3.5, equipped with
voltage and amperage recording devices.
Test procedure
b.
1. Secure the tool to prevent inadvertent movement and position
the tachometer to obtain output shaft rotational speed.
2. Using the power cable, p/n 1167AS142-1, connect the tool to a
120 Vat, 400 Hz source.
3. Using the control switches on the tool, perform a no load speed
test for 4 minutes in each direction. Record the output shaft rotational
speed for each shaft direction. Record the voltage and amperage at output of
the power supply.
4. Attach the tool to the prony brake or the dynamometer with
sufficient support and alignment to minimize wobble and resist torque reaction
to the tool.
5. Run the tool in the clockwise direction at each incremental
torque load specified below. Allow 2 minutes dwelltime between each
incremental run. Record the torque, speed, voltage and amperage draw. Run
time for each incremental load is as follows:
